Tevez Demands Transfer

Just as it seemed that Manchester City had found stability, their captain Carlos Tevez has demanded a transfer request. City are only three points off top spot and have won four of their last five games with one draw. Now Tevez has dropped this bomb-shell. Despite being City's best player this season he has constantly made headlines for the wrong reasons. Only last week he threw a strop as he was substituted with City winning 1-0 and reduced to ten men. He was also booked and missed yesterday's game through suspension. He seems to have a dreadful attitude and should never have been made captain of the team. He has also been allowed to return home to Argentina far too often (including this weekend). It seems ridiculous to me that you would treat a player to a trip home after picking up a suspension.
He has led a far too priviledged life at City and has had far too much power. He stated that the breakdown of his relationship "with certain individuals" is to blame for his desire to leave. City have turned down his transfer request but it remains to be seen if they can hold onto him beyond January. Real Madrid are probably favourites to sign him at this stage with Mourinho saying he needs another striker if they are to win the league. The fact that he has stated his desire to leave will affect his value. A swap involving Benzema and cash may tempt City to part with him.
Whatever happens (and i hope City stand firm) Tevez's image will be badly tarnished. Having already left Manchester United to join their biggest rivals, Tevez has shown that loyalty is not his strongest trait. However, given City's league position, the fact that he's captain and their reliance on him, this will look dreadful to potential suitors.
