Blackburn Could Be Relegated

At the moment Blackburn sit in 13th position in the Premier League table, 5 points above relegation. I expect Aston Villa, Everton and Birmingham to climb to mid table safety before too long. Wolves are looking rejuvinated with 2 wins in 3, thanks in part to the Stephen Hunt factor. There are also rumours that they could acquire Robbie Keane in January. That leaves Blackburn in a precarious position after they have been thrown into chaos with the sacking of Sam Allardyce. The new board want to see Blackburn challenging the top four. This is despite saying that Big Sam would have £5 million to spend in January when they first took over. Has something changed? Is there £200 million now available or is it a case of foreign investors who haven't a clue about football yet again having a ridiculous notion of their new club?
It looks like the later. Blackburn are a solid enough mid-table side but they are miles away from challenging for a Champion's League position. Allardyce (who has an over-inflated view of himself) did an average job with average players on an average budget. Nothing more could be expected of him until someone backed him with the cash. I don't particularly like Sam but i do feel sorry for him. If the new owners backed him to the hilt in January and he failed to move Blackburn into European places then fine. That didn't happen. The new board say they want a British manager and then reveal they've spoken to Maradona. It's ludicrous.
Who will honestly take over Blackburn if the board are demanding a top 4 finish? Rent-a-manager Sven has already ruled himself out. Pardew might take it if the wages are better than Newcastle are offering him! Martin Jol and Martin O' Neill are the early favourites but i can't see either of them being desperate enough to take the job. Jol is probably waiting to take over as Inter Milan manager anyway.
Either way it's a ridiculous situation and no offense to the Blackburn fans but the club deserve to be relegated if the board are allowed to get away with such stupidity. The fans should boycott the games and the players should refuse to play. It's time to make a stand.
