Only 2 Premier League games went ahead this weekend with Sunderland moving up to sixth by beating Bolton(Sunderland's goalkeeper, Craig Gordon produced one of the best goalkeeping performances i've ever seen), and West Ham picking up a point at Blackburn. Manchester City could be the big winners as it looks as though their game against Everton will go ahead tonight and a win will put them top for Christmas. It's suggested that Tevez will play and with temperatures of -8 he will probably wear his snood and a balaclava.
I think the real winners of the weekend could be Chelsea. Frank Lampard will be fully fit when their game agianst Manchester United is rescheduled and a fully fit Lampard can influence the outcome in the game. John Terry and Alex may well be back to full fitness too. Chelsea have been in poor form but some of their crucial players have been injured and some are playing through the pain. A week of rest for them could reignite their title push.
The transfer rumours have already begun. A suprise one is Leighton Baines being linked with a move to Bayern Munich. Everton are only 2 points above relegation so a possible move could be on the cards but Bayern are seriously struggling themselves (14 points behind Dortmund)
Harry Redknapp is preparing a bid for Andy Carroll. £20 million and Peter Crouch is what some papers are reporting the offer to be. I think he'll stick it out until the summer as he is a proud Geordie and he may be vilified if he leaves and Newcastle go down.
Gerard Houllier has ostracised his whole Aston Villa squad by the looks of things. Richard Dunne, John Carew and Stephen Ireland look likely to leave in january. If he could get the best out of those 3, Villa could be battling for European places, instead they're in a relegation battle. If he can't re-enforce the squad with anything better than washed up 37 year olds, Ashley Young and Agbonlahor won't be long following them out of the club too.
